In the ’80s, Brian Griffin was regarded as one of the essential music photographers in the UK. With a background in portraiture and a willingness to embrace punk and post-punk’s DIY ethos, he went from a freelancer focused on editorial photography to one of music’s most in-demand photographers and an album cover specialist.
While he is best known for the classic covers of two Depeche Mode albums (Construction Time Again and A Broken Frame), he was also responsible for other notable covers, including Echo & the Bunnymen’s Ocean Rain and Porcupine, Iggy Pop’s Loco Mosquito, Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell and Siouxsie and the Banshees’ Dazzle.
His photographs are held in permanent collections of major art institutions including the British Council, Victoria & Albert Museum, Arts Council, and National Portrait Gallery. Now available at Burst Gallery as a limited edition of 200 prints.
Whether you’re looking for a Kate Bush or a Bucks Fizz print, our Brian Griffin collection contains a wide range of rare images waiting to be discovered.
