The 1975 Prints

The 1975 was founded in 2002, when Matt Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald and George Daniel began playing together at Wilmslow High School, in Manchester. Influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel, the band has created a sound that is jagged pop-rock at its best.

Despite this, it took a decade for The 1975 to release their self-titled first album, which went straight to the top of the charts, heralded by their debut single, Sex. This success led the band to play support to some rock ‘n’ roll giants, including The Rolling Stones and Bastille.

The band has endured more than its fair share of media attention. Lead-singer, Matt Healy, was once romantically linked to Taylor Swift and getting into a drunken scuffle with Justin Bieber.

However, The 1975 are bona fide pop superstars, who aren’t afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves.
